I've decided that today I was going to start the day right. Carpe diem - seize the day. We had a wintery blast yesterday, nothing to unusual in my neck of the woods, I am a prairie gal! I opened my curtains, and decided that I needed to freshen up the air in this tiny apartment of mine I call home.
I went to my super secret Scentsy stash and dug out some discontinued scents. The reason being, I wanted to reminisce the summertime smells. The scents I chose remind me of spring/summer.
I decided to change my bathroom scent from Maui Mist (another discontinued favorite of mine) to Very Peary Pumpkin. Now you may be thinking, pumpkin? Isn't that a fall scent? Well technically I guess it is because pumpkins are harvested in the fall season. But the sweet nashi pear, paired with tart green apple, and a hint of freshly picked pumpkin. It smells so...fresh. Like spring. It's a stronger scent, so it's perfect for the bathroom. Living with a pre-schooler boy, it's great for covering up that...smell. Parents know what I mean! Very Peary Pumpkin was a Scent of the Month last year. I loved it so much I bought 3 bars to keep to myself. Glad I stocked up!
Next up I want a welcoming scent in my living room. I look amongst my super awesome Scentsy stash and quickly decide that Apple Butter Frosting would be perfect! It smells like baked apples blended with vanilla buttercream frosting. I just want to eat the dang thing! Seriously! I remember when I got the Scentsy brick from UPS, I could smell it through the box. I quickly opened it and my 4 year old ran up to me, "mommy, mommy, can I smell?!!". We both leaned in together and took a deep breath. Ahhh... "mmm mommy! It smells so good!". It was only available during Scentsy's Brick Jubilee in November 2015, and is no longer around.
I turn to my dining room. I look at my Whoot warmer and think what could pair perfect with these two scents? I chose to warm up Apple & Pears. I mean I was already warming up an apple scent in the living room, and a pear based scent in the bathroom. So to me it was a no brainer. This Scentsy bar smells like the name suggests. Just apples and pears. It's extremely wonderful and I wish Scentsy had it in its permanent line! I wish I could emit scent through the this blog so you can smell it. Ugh, so amazing.
Now did I mention I live in a tiny apartment? With these three scents going, there's this area in hall, entrance, kitchen that I refer to as the mix zone. All three scents, Very Peary Pumpkin, Apples & Pears and Apple Butter Frosting, go together so well. I have to say, I rarely "pair" scents together. I usually just pop scents I feel like warming up. But I have to say, give it a shot.
When pairing your scents, pick a similar grouping. In this case I chose apples and pears, very fruity scents. Can't go wrong with that. Very simple, lightens up the room, and it isn't overpowering. I'm curious if you pair scents as well? What combination are your favorite?
